Warner Music: Kristen Burke appointed President, Warner Music Canada
Kristen Burke has been appointed President of Warner Music Canada. She will take up her duties on October 18e and be based in the company’s Toronto office, reporting to Simon Robson, President, International, Recorded Music at Warner Music Group.
She succeeds Steve Kane, who has served as President of Warner Music Canada since 2004. While leading the company, Kane has signed and developed a wide range of exciting artists including Billy Talent, Brett Kissel, Charmaine, Just John and Scott. Helman.
Under his leadership, Warner Music Canada has been named Label of the Year three years in a row at the Canadian Country Music Awards. Most recently, Kane was instrumental in launching 4N Records, a JV label run by artist Ikky Singh that focuses on the exciting and rapidly growing genre of Punjabi music. He was inducted into the Canadian Music and Broadcasting Industry Hall of Fame in 2015.
Burke joins the company from Universal Music Canada, where she worked for over 20 years, most recently as Executive Vice President and General Manager.

Burke began her career with Universal Music Canada in 2000, joining the company as a National Sales Assistant. She rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Marketing in 2014, and was subsequently promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing in 2016. She was appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager of Universal Music Canada in January 2018.
Burke is a board member of the Canadian Country Music Association and The Remix Project, which provides programs and services to young people from marginalized and underserved communities who are trying to enter or pursue the creative industries. formal studies.
