Vintage live performance videos from Fugazi, Government Issue, Dag Nasty and more revealed

Sohrab Habibion ​​is known for his indie rock band, SAVAK. His current group includes members of The Nation of Ulysses, Silent Majority and Enon. Other groups he’s been in include Edsel and Obits. He’s been in the punk and rock scene for years. As a youth he attended dozens of punk and hardcore shows in the DC area, he even captured many groups in video.

With help from Roswell Films and the Punk Archives at the DC Public Library, many videos he shot in the ’80s and’ 90s have also been released and digitized. They are now available to watch on Youtube. The groups that Habibion ​​managed to capture are: Fugazi (since 1987), Dag Nasty, Government Issue, Moss Icon, Shudder To Think, Scream, 7Seconds, Descendents, Marginal Man, Gray Matter, One Last Wish, Soul Side, Half Japanese, Fire Party, DOA, Saccharine Trust, Doughboys, GWAR, Gang Green, Jerry’s Kids, The Lemonheads, and more!

When the videos came out, here’s what Habibion ​​had to say,

“I filmed about sixty groups between 1985 and 1988 … Don’t forget that I was a teenager when I shot these shows and that I had no control over the equipment … get here is what was recorded on my Betamax and probably best enjoyed with a little generosity as a viewer.
