Starset continues the ‘HORIZONS’ journey with the melodic song ‘Earthrise’

0

Who’s up for a space age love song? Starset has dropped the third new transmission of its upcoming HORIZONS album, the new melodic but anthemic song “Earthrise”.

Stepping away from the visual narrative of their previous two videos for the album, Starset instead focused on terrestrial views of space, glimpsing the beauty of the terrain from a distance. This serves the song in the sense that Dustin Bates shares his desire and fascination with a captivating beauty, singing at one point, “I still fall in love with you like the suns do for the heavens / The cerulean springing from your eyes / Just a hollow moon that you color / So powerful that I feel so small but so alive / Like watching the earth rise.

This serves as the third song to arrive from the next HORIZONS album, after “The Breach” and “Leaving This World Behind”. If you like what you’ve heard so far, the album is currently available for pre-order before the street date of October 22. Take a closer look and listen to “Earthrise” through the lyrics and video below:

Starset lyrics, “Earthrise”

I push my feet to the edge
I look and I face my world
this lonely scene, I take it in
it’s hard to say where it all starts and i end
And I waited for the sky to change but, oh, that never changed
and I almost bowed my head and lost my faith
then i saw you from afar
you were at worlds
oh, but you saw me seeing
I never looked away again

I still fall in love with you like the suns do for the sky
cerulean flowing from your eyes
just a hollow moon that you color
so powerful i feel so small but so alive
like watching the earth rise

I walk in these lonely streets
a calm sea
to all horizons
this empty scene of who could have been
I watch the starless skies calling me and I still wish, I still wish, I still wish

I still fall in love with you like the suns do for the skies
the cerulean flows from your eyes
just a hollow moon that you color
so powerful i feel so small but so alive
like watching the earth rise

they said we were both too different
that all the shine would fade
but I wish I had never listened
Because you pulled me out of gray

I still fall in love with you like the suns do for the skies
cerulean flowing from your eyes
just a hollow moon that you color
so powerful i feel so small but so alive
like watching the earth rise
