See Little Big Town for $ 15 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater
After investing $ 51.3 million to renovate the American Family Insurance Amphitheater, Summerfest officials and Madison-based American Family Insurance are offering a low-cost concert to reintroduce the venue to Milwaukee music fans.
Little Big Town country actor and Waukesha-born roots rocker BoDeans will perform one of the first shows at the amphitheater this summer on August 13. Tickets start at $ 15, with the best seats at $ 50. Each ticket will also include a Summerfest general admission ticket for the September festival.
According to a press release, the concert compensates for a show that American Family Insurance traditionally sponsors each year to coincide with the American Family Insurance Championship of PGA Tour Champions. The championship was held in Madison earlier this month, but the concert was canceled due to COVID-19.
But concerts will return later this summer, with the Foo Fighters playing the first big show in Milwaukee since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater on July 30.
Maroon 5, Hall & Oates and the Black Crowes also play at the amphitheater in August. Then the live music really returns in September with Summerfest postponed, and a dozen shows in the amphitheater during the Big Gig, with Guns N ‘Roses, Megan Thee Stallion, Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, Chance The Rapper, Dave Matthews. Band, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Zac Brown Band, comedian Dave Chappelle and a triple Green Day / Weezer / Fall Out Boy bill.
The amphitheater renovation is the largest construction project overseen by Summerfest’s parent company, Milwaukee World Festival Inc. Upgrades include new lobby areas, food and beverage vendors, a reconfigured seating bowl, VIP areas and accessibility improvements.
Tickets for the Little Big Town and BoDeans show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com.
