Prepare for the Denver Day of Rock which includes 25 bands and COVID precautions – CBS Denver
DENVER (CBS4) – Denver Day of Rock on Saturdays is 5 stages, 25 bands, 15 food trucks and all the fun you can have. Headliners for the day include The Band Perry, Cale Dodds and Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears.
“Then we have local favorites like The Railbenders and Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, and a lot more,” said Julia Simmons, president of Amp The Cause, the organization that hosts Denver Day of Rock.
The August 28 festival is free, but it’s also a fundraiser for Amp The Cause, an organization that raises funds and supports other local nonprofits.
“We’ve been around for almost 18 years now. We support other nonprofits in the Denver area that are focused on children and family. We do this throughout the year through many different programs. We support about 55 other local nonprofits and work closely with Title One schools in Aurora and Denver public school districts, ”Simmons told CBS4.
The money is collected through direct donations throughout the event, but also through the sale of VIP passes.
“VIP passes cost $ 250 per pass. They give you full access to each of our VIP hospitality lounges which are located right next to the stages of each of our main stages, so there are five of them. Throughout the day, you have unlimited access to food, unlimited drinks, according to your preference, cocktails and alcohol-free. And then on our main stage, we also have a food truck that’s specifically for this VIP hospitality lounge, and that’s the Burger Bus, so they’ll be serving up signature burgers for anyone who fancies them, ”said Simmons.
Installed along the 16e Street Mall, this free music festival is outside allowing for social distancing and other COVID precautions.
“We will have a COVID vaccination tent, and then we also work with the Department of Health and Environment to have a COVID testing tent as well,” Simmons explained.
