Winners are awarded with a trophy by dignitaries in the presence of students in Jammu on Thursday.

JAMMU, November 3: Shri Ram Universal School has organized an inter-school group song contest, Bharat Ke Rang–Lok Geeton Ke Sang, under the Sahodaya Schools Complex Jammu, here today.
The event was organized to provide a platform for budding talents to show off their skills in the field of music. The theme of the event was “Regional Folk Song”, in which 31 schools from Jammu region dressed in colorful outfits participated in the competition.
The program began with the lighting of the lamp and the auditorium echoed with the chanting of ‘Gayatri Mantra’ followed by a scintillating performance of Saraswati Vandana by the students of the school.
Baldev Singh Balloria, Deputy Mayor of JMC graced the occasion as the chief guest, while the guest of honor at the event was Sanjeev Gupta, Chairman of TSUS Jammu and other distinguished guests included Rajesh Rathore , Chairman of Jammu Sahodya School Complex, Dr. KCS Mehta, Principal IDPS Akhnoor. and former JSSC President, Sanjeev Pradhan, Director APS Samba and Rohini Aima, Director Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu.
The jury included eminent experts in the field of music like Suraj Singh, HoD (IMFA, Vocal), Sunil Raina, HoD (IMFA, Violin) and Bahadur Singh HoD (IMFA, Sitar, Retd).
The participating school choirs mesmerized the audience with their melodious voices and gave it their all to top the scoreboard and share the victory podium.
Shivani Vaid Sharma, Principal of the school gave a brief introduction and welcomed the main guest, other dignitaries and members of the jury. The guests were honored with memorabilia from the school by Rajni Gupta, Headmaster and Col. VK Sharma (Retired), Headmaster of the school.
Doon International School Jammu won the 1st position and received the winner’s trophy while GD Goenka Jammu and Army Public School Kaluchak got the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu and DBN Amarvilla Talab Tillo received consolation prizes.
The event ended with the singing of the national anthem.
