Les Temptations and Four Tops team up for the Austin show in 2022

Two powerful R&B groups who have helped define the great lexicon of American music come together for a performance at Austin’s Ball Concert Hall.

Temptations – named one of the Rolling stoneThe 100 greatest artists of all time and the creative vocal force behind mega hits like “My Girl”, “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” and “Just My Imagination” – will co-host the Austin show with other musical icons and Motown giants The Four Tops including “I Can’t Help Myself” and “Baby I Need Your Loving” helped propel the vocal group to legendary status.

The Austin Show at Bass Concert Hall takes place on March 9, 2022 and is presented by Texas Performing Arts as part of its Texas Welcomes series. Tickets for the local show, which range from $ 39.50 to $ 79.50, go on sale Friday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. at the venue.

Members of the Texas Inner Circle, a donation-based membership program that offers additional perks for shows in the concert hall, can access pre-sale tickets starting Thursday, December 2. Visit texasperformingarts.org for more information.

The impact the two groups have had on American music cannot be emphasized enough, with The Temptations’ career spanning six decades, earning them four Grammy Awards, and the Library of Congress announcing in 2018 that the band hit “My Girl” would be inducted into the National Registry.

Otis Williams, the only surviving member of the original Temptations lineup, will be joined on stage by Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Willie Greene Jr. and Mario Corbino.

Likewise, The Four Tops, of which “I Can’t Help Myself” was one of Motown’s oldest charts, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999, and were also nominated by Rolling stone among the 100 greatest artists of all time.

Today, The Four Tops is managed by founding member Abdul “Duke” Fakir.

While other tour dates for the headlining performances of The Temptations and The Four Tops remain unclear, Ticketmaster is showing the groups co-performing at the Arena Theater in Houston on March 3, 2022.
