Dublin noiseniks Gilla Band, formerly known as the Girl Band, talk with Nigel Carr about the evolution of their sound and life as a band. Alan Duggan and Dara Kiely talk candidly about the music they create, their influences and the new album Most Normal, out October 7 via Rough Trade.

Gilla Band is often described as a post-punk or noise band, but their sound has evolved into an uplifting wall of sound, blanketed by Dara’s effortless vocals. Take Eight Fivers, the album’s lead track, which they performed at Psych Fest in 2021.
