Avenged Sevenfold Members Release Misfits’ ‘Hybrid Moments’ Coverage
Three members of Avenged Sevenfold teamed up on a cover of Misfits to ring in early October, or as I’ve seen a lot of people say online lately, “the scary season”. Can we please drop him with this shit? So grind his teeth.
Guitarist Zacky Vengeance, bassist Johnny Christ and drummer Brooks Wackerman all wear classic Misfits-inspired makeup for the effort, their own take on “Hybrid Moments” from the horror-punk band‘s 1985 record. Legacy of brutality.
Vengeance, who takes care of the vocals on the track and makes a hell of a beautiful Danzig voice, explains:
“We wanted to have a little fun with you to kick off the Halloween season. Brooks wanted to do a Misfits song. I wanted to paint my face like Kiss and call us KissFits and Johnny wanted to drink and walk around town dressed as a skeleton. I forgot to paint my face like Kiss. We’ve always kept punk rock and scary to yourself! Enjoy!!”
You can give the cover a feed below with a quarantine style performance video.
Avenged Sevenfold frontman Mr Shadows said in an interview earlier this year that a new album by the band will be released before the summer of 2022, when the band expects to be on the road. Their last, The scene, was released in October 2016.
