American Crown Circus relies on Santa Maria for five days of shows
The American Crown Circus raises the marquee before five evenings of shows in Santa Maria.
The circus will present nine shows that will take place from Thursday August 12 to Monday August 16. The shows will take place at the Minami Basin at the corner of Enos Dr. and Depot Rd. In Sainte-Marie.
This will mark a second return to the stage for the circus since March 2020, when coronavirus closures closed the show. The circus says it was a difficult road to bring the group together, but they brought together performers from all over the world.
Although the industry has been hit hard by the pandemic shutdowns, Roberto Osorio, one of the three brothers who own the American Crown Circus, is looking ahead.
“We are very happy to be able to bring the circus to Santa Maria,” said Osorio, conductor and circus magician. “It’s exciting to be able to do what my great-great-grandfather started many years ago. It’s a thrill.”
Shows at Santa Maria include performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Monday. On Friday and Saturday the circus will also perform at 5.30 p.m., and on Sunday it will perform at 3.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased online. An adult ticket costs $ 25, and seniors and serving military personnel can get tickets for $ 20 each. Tickets for children ten and under are $ 10.
Each adult ticket includes free entry for one child.
The American Crown Circus recently performed at Van Nuys. Their next tour includes stops in Salinas, Watsonville, and San Rafael.
The circus says it will follow all guidelines from the CDC and the Santa Barbara County Department of Health.
